Biography
Veteran Austrian character actor, on stage from 1890. In films from 1912, with occasional forays into writing and directing. Mostly used for ing roles, with the exception of a starring role in Haydns letzter Besucher (1939). The sound movie didn't constitute a problem for the experiences theater actor and he continued his successful career with Alfred Hitchcock's "Mary - Sir John greift ein!" (1930).
